About Hilary...
Hilary Lowbridge, who holds a BA from Kenyon College (Gambier, OH) and is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT-200) (Kripalu School of Yoga, Stockbridge, MA), began practicing yoga when she was 18-years-old. She received her undergraduate degree in political science and religion. After a successful 10-year career as an admission professional at three prestigious colleges, and finally getting a handle on her impossibly curly hair, Lowbridge followed her passion for yoga. One sunny afternoon, while sitting on a porch in southern California, she decided to go to yoga school.
In April, 2015, Lowbridge opened the doors to her first studio location in Madisonville, Kentucky: hOMe studio. With a focus on yoga that is accessible for everybody and every body, Lowbridge offers daily classes suitable for all-levels, a four-week Beginners Yoga Series, and various, unique programming such as The Yoga of Transformation, a 5-week intensive workshop diving deeper into yoga philosophy and using the practice to support life off the mat. Other workshops include Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, and Meditation Mondays. Lowbridge brings a deep commitment to ancient and authentic yoga that is informed by modern medical and scientific understanding. Her enthusiasm and passion for yoga, wellness, and nutrition is infectious. With a playful and compassionate style, Lowbridge encourages her students to laugh as much as possible, to eat dark chocolate and drink red wine regularly, and to engage fully in the inquiry of life.

Accepted into the renowned residential yoga teacher training program at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, she not only learned a lot about yoga and meditation, she also began a torrid love affair with kale that continues to this day. Graduating in August 2010, Lowbridge began offering yoga classes at the Hopkins County YMCA in Madisonville, Kentucky, and has since logged over 6,000 hours teaching yoga and meditation at several health and fitness establishments, as well as with numerous private clients.

"Having a student/teacher relationship with Hilary has had a life changing effect on me. I am a person who does not enjoy group exercise classes. Knowing this, Hilary offered me an opportunity to take private sessions with her. What an incredible experience. We scheduled two classes a week for 3 months. With Hilary’s deep loving compassionate attitude I was able to let go of so many body insecurities I had carried my whole life and begin to open up to a MindBody awareness I had never experienced before. Not only did Hilary teach me the safest ways and modifications for many of the basic yoga poses but also guided me to experience my breathing in a whole new way. The private sessions brought me a level of fitness that I have been able to continue to build on through my personal fitness and yoga practices. These lessons were also life coaching sessions as Hilary also shared with me her expansive knowledge of nutrition and emotional health. The private lessons started me on a path to good health and wellness that I plan to stick to for the rest of my life.
During this time, I grew more and more intrigued with the breath work we were doing together. I was able to be one of the first students to join her weekly meditation sessions. I have now attended this class once a week for over 2 years. The peace, relaxation, rejuvenation and sense of community I experience each week during class are so incredibly valuable to me. It encourages and enriches my private meditation practice. Each week is slightly different, but equally powerful. When beginning mediation with Hilary, I was barely able to sit still through the first 10 minutes, feeling terrified of controlling my breath, of letting go of all the wild thoughts consuming my mind. She stayed with us week after week, and as I was able to trust her guidance I began to be able to relax and trust myself. I honestly believe I had never taken a complete deep breath until taking a month of these meditation classes. I believe that making meditation part of my daily life has made me a stronger friend, wife, mother, sister, etc. I am able to let go of worries and fears and simply dwell in the now, in the moment, in “what is”. This attitude now stays with me throughout the day helping me be a more peaceful and compassionate person. "Having a student/teacher relationship with Hilary has had a life changing effect on me. I am a person who does not enjoy group exercise classes. Knowing this, Hilary offered me an opportunity to take private sessions with her. What an incredible experience. We scheduled two classes a week for 3 months. With Hilary’s deep loving compassionate attitude I was able to let go of so many body insecurities I had carried my whole life and begin to open up to a MindBody awareness I had never experienced before. Not only did Hilary teach me the safest ways and modifications for many of the basic yoga poses but also guided me to experience my breathing in a whole new way. The private sessions brought me a level of fitness that I have been able to continue to build on through my personal fitness and yoga practices. These lessons were also life coaching sessions as Hilary also shared with me her expansive knowledge of nutrition and emotional health. The private lessons started me on a path to good health and wellness that I plan to stick to for the rest of my life.
During this time, I grew more and more intrigued with the breath work we were doing together. I was able to be one of the first students to join her weekly meditation sessions. I have now attended this class once a week for over 2 years. The peace, relaxation, rejuvenation and sense of community I experience each week during class are so incredibly valuable to me. It encourages and enriches my private meditation practice. Each week is slightly different, but equally powerful. When beginning mediation with Hilary, I was barely able to sit still through the first 10 minutes, feeling terrified of controlling my breath, of letting go of all the wild thoughts consuming my mind. She stayed with us week after week, and as I was able to trust her guidance I began to be able to relax and trust myself. I honestly believe I had never taken a complete deep breath until taking a month of these meditation classes. I believe that making meditation part of my daily life has made me a stronger friend, wife, mother, sister, etc. I am able to let go of worries and fears and simply dwell in the now, in the moment, in “what is”. This attitude now stays with me throughout the day helping me be a more peaceful and compassionate person.
